Mental Health Assistant – Ward 9c, Acute Mental Health

Wakari Hospital, Dunedin

 

  • Fixed term, ending on or before 27 July 2018
  • 1.0FTE (80 hours per fortnight)

 

 

Ward 9c is an Acute Mental Health Inpatient ward, providing care for the full range of general adult mental health disorders, including youth, mothers and babies, and eating disorders. We seek an enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant to join our team on a fixed term, fulltime basis.

 

Our Mental Health Assistants are key team members who assist our nursing and allied health staff to ensure an effective and efficient service.  As an Assistant working in Mental Health you’ll need to have a positive attitude and good communication skills, be able to take direction and work well as part of the team. 

 

This role includes working a variety of shifts (and includes rostered weekend shifts) over seven days; mornings (7am start), afternoons (2.30pm start) and nights (10.45pm start).  Applicants should also note that a full driver’s licence is a requirement for this position.
