Nurse Educator – Community Nursing Service

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community Nurse, looking to make that next career step, and become the Nurse Educator for our Otago based Community Services. Encompassing our District Nursing, Ostomy, Continence, Early Discharge Rehabilitation Service (EDRS), and Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) services, this is a varied role, but one with a lot of scope and opportunity for the right person.
A multi-faceted position where no two days are ever the same, you’ll be working alongside the Charge Nurse Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists and other Senior Nursing staff to deliver education to upwards of 40 staff members. Your encouragement of on-going nursing development will see you arranging and presenting education, providing one to one teachings, tutorials and, coordinating orientations and students.
The successful candidate will be a Senior RN with extensive nursing experience in the field of community nursing. You will have exceptional communication skills, and the ability to present and teach to a range of different learning styles. A skilled practitioner, you will keep abreast of developments in the relevant areas of nursing with the ability to change and adapt your teaching /polices/ practice dependent on evidence based practice.
You will have completed Post Graduate education studies/training or currently be working towards completion. Along with this you should have completed teaching/coaching papers with a passion for learning and educating.
