Stroke Clinical Nurse Specialist
- Permanent – 0.5 FTE (20 Hours per week)
Southland Hospital in Invercargill is pleased to be able to offer a permanent part time role of Stroke Clinical Nurse Specialist.
We are seeking a dynamic nurse who will take a lead role in the service delivery across the organisation at Southland Hospital in the Senior Nurse team. The Stroke Clinical Nurse Specialist role is being introduced as an advanced nursing role to improve the management of acute stroke patients from the Emergency Department through to discharge. It is not expected that this role will be involved with the day to day clinical care of stroke patients but that it will work in an advisory and leadership capacity. The Stroke Clinical Nurse Specialist role will support the implementation of Ministry of Health measures and be actively involved in quality improvement initiatives that improve the care of patients.
You must be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a registered Nurse and Hold a current Nursing Council of New Zealand annual practising certificate. You will have minimum of 3 years practice within the defined scope of clinical speciality/practice.
The successful applicant will be a committed team member with a passion for modelling quality nursing practise. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and enjoy Networking effectively in area of specialty/ practice.
To be considered you will be working towards Post graduate qualifications at a minimum of a Diploma or/and a master’s degree. Along with this you will have completed teaching/coaching papers with advanced learning and contemporary knowledge in area of specialist practice.
