Service Manager Community-Dunedin
- Permanent 1.0 FTE (40 Hours per week)
Your chance to be involved in shaping our future – an opportunity not to be missed!
Here at Southern DHB, we’re undergoing significant transformation, as we work towards the goal of becoming a clinically and financially sustainable organisation, supporting our district. We’re working very hard to provide high quality health and disability services so we’re highly focused on bringing in the right people with the appropriate experience and leadership skills, to turn our strategic goals into reality.
This leadership opportunity works across both Dunedin Hospital and Wakari Hospital. As part of the newly formed Strategy, Primary and Community Directorate, you will lead and drive a large community focussed multi-disciplinary team across Allied Health, Care Coordination and Community Nursing Services. This role has a strong strategic, service development and quality improvement focus that will see you working in partnership across the health system, to align with our vision and values.
No two days in this role will be the same as you will be managing a high performing team who value patient centred care. Your strong leadership skills will be invaluable to the success of your team. Your responsibilities are focused on Business Planning and Service Delivery, Staff Management and Planning, Financial and Strategic Management and Quality and Risk Management and streamlining other systems and processes within the services.
With tertiary qualifications (ideally in Health or Management), and leadership experience in a similar and relevant position elsewhere, your contribution will be valued and appreciated. You can’t do this alone however, so your ability to lead and engage, and your approachability and commitment to success will be evident in the roles you’ve held previously and your aspirations for the future. There is appetite for change at Southern DHB, and we want you to help shape our future.
The Southern district offers the benefits of excellent amenities, first class primary through to tertiary education, affordable housing and outstanding recreational opportunities. Whether it surfing, kayaking or sailing; skiing, hunting or fishing; theatre, live-music or art – there’s literally something for everyone. Please note that travel throughout our district will be a requirement with this position.
Closing Date: Sunday, 14 January 2018
