We have some great opportunities available for a Speech Language Therapist/s to join our team in 2018, based at Southland Hospital in Invercargill.
We have parental leave fixed term positions in the Adult Inpatient/Outpatient Service and the Paediatric (and Child Development) Service. Experience in both adults and paediatrics is desirable but not essential.
The primary caseload is adult based Speech Language Therapy services to outpatient, community and inpatient areas as required. There may be an opportunity to also work in the Child Development Service team. You will be responsible for providing swallowing and communication assessment and intervention to both adults and children.
Joining our Speech Language Therapy team will be an exciting experience. Our unit is innovative and hugely progressive. While you will be based in Invercargill, you will also be part of the wider Southern DHB Speech Language Therapy team, who are predominantly based in Dunedin. It is essential that you are self-motivated with a high level of enthusiasm and commitment to your professional development and personal growth. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to be flexible as an active participant within the Speech-Language Therapy (SLT) and multidisciplinary team environments.
You will work in Speech Language Therapy and Multi-disciplinary teams that are dynamic and supportive with an enviable mix of skill, knowledge and clinical experience. The Speech Language Therapy team at Southern DHB is committed to delivering a high standard of service to our patients. As part of our team you will have the opportunity to access regular supervision, professional development and peer support.
Applicants must hold a degree in Speech Language Therapy and be eligible for full or provisional membership with the New Zealand Speech Language Therapy Association. For applicants with provisional membership you will be supported to progress to full membership as per the NZSTA guidelines.
