We have a part time role of 4 days per week (0.8FTE) available for a Psychiatrist who has several years at Consultant level to join us on a permanent basis. Whilst you will work within a small multi-disciplinary team, you will be taking a leading role in maintaining and enhancing our service. You’ll also have the opportunity to take a break from home as you join our closest geographical secondary Hospital, Southland, providing assistance with their 1:4 on-call roster.
In this role you’ll see a wide range of presentations and provide clinics both at our main clinic in Invercargill as well as our rural clinics. Southern District Health Board embraces the use of technology, and you will need to be comfortable with technology and the use of videoconference in the clinical setting.

This position will provide Applicants must have completed their specialist training as Psychiatrists and be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand. The position offers an attractive remuneration package, relocation assistance and CME allowance.

Candidates who are not currently registered with the New Zealand Medical Council should be aware that from 1 November 2017 it will be the requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC.
