Registered Nurse – Medical Assessment Unit

The Medical Assessment Unit is a new unit that will be opening at Dunedin Hospital and is welcoming applications from experienced Registered Nurses. We are looking for people interested Part Time hours working on permanent contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a new and exciting unit.
The medical Assessment Unit is closely linked to the Emergency Department and other front line services. The unit is designed to streamline the assessment and admission of non-critically ill medical patients and will accommodate them for up to 24 – 36 hours.
Staffed by dedicated internal medicine staff this is an exciting opportunity for you to help shape the future of this new Assessment unit.
As an experienced Registered Nurse you must have current APC. The ability to work in a fast paced environment that values working within a dynamic team. The department has a strong focus on customer service and it success will be reliant on your effective communications, flexibility and team working skills.
To be considered for shortlisting you must have acute care experience and have at least 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse. In your application letter please indicate clearly weather what FTE you can commit to working. The minimum FTE we can consider is 0.5 FTE (20hrs per week).
