Health Promotion Advisor                                 

Dunedin

 

  • Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)

Have you been looking for your chance to bring your experience in health promotion and/or education to our Public Health team in Dunedin for a full time, permanent position?

 

Joining our team of health promotion advisors you will provide the opportunity for students, staff and the school community to improve health and wellbeing. If you have previous experience in health promotion, education or community work we would like to hear from you. 

 

In this role you’ll be working autonomously and need to have an innovative approach whilst being familiar with project development and implementation. You will continuing the great work we have been doing with the National Health Promoting Schools Framework in Otago as well as undertaking some generic health promotion within the community. You’ll have expertise in managing relationships both internally and in the wider community, including stakeholders and NGOs as you work to coordinate your work with schools.

 

It goes without saying that you will be an exceptional planner with outstanding organisational skills. You will bring excellent presentation skills along with outstanding communication skills and be computer literate.

 

A good knowledge of and strong links to the local Dunedin and wider Otago community will be an advantage. Experience within the education sector and settings based health promotion is preferred. It is important that you work as a valued team member and are able to travel throughout Otago and hold a full clean driver’s license.

 

This position will be based in the Dunedin Public Health office. This role will be working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
