With a good mix of SET and non-SET positions available and exposure to a broad range of surgical specialties and subspecialties (including tertiary level caseloads) - why would you consider anywhere else?

Our General Surgery department is seeking interest for a position commencing as soon as possible.  Runs are currently available in:

  • General Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Urology (dependent upon SET placement)
  • Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • ICU
  • ED (Registrars can elect to rotate to ED however, this is not compulsory)

By working in a University Hospital and being guided by a team of dedicated Surgeons, Registrars will experience great support for educational needs.  Weekly teaching plus case discussions, journal clubs and peer review sessions are part of the regular events available to Registrars.

In a department that has a strong academic presence; opportunities for the successful candidates will be far and wide and will involve excellent opportunities to undertake research as part of training.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of two years post graduate medical experience, posses a strong Surgical interest and be able to commence as soon as possible.   Overseas applicants MUST be eligible for New Zealand Medical Council Registration.
