Trainee Cardiac Physiologist – Diagnostic Testing Department

Southland Hospital

 

  • Full-time Permanent or 3 Year Fixed Term Contract
  • 40 hours per week

 

We are pleased to be able to offer the role of Trainee Cardiac Physiologist to join our Diagnostic Testing Department at Southland Hospital.

 

Our Department is involved in a full range of tests including, ECG’s, Holter monitoring, Exercise Stress Testing, Pacemaker & ICD follow-up and Echocardiography

 

Our ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and great communication skills with team members and patients alike. The ability to cope with busy workloads and flexibility is a must. To be considered for the programme you will be a recent graduate with a science degree and a willingness to undertake further study.

 

This two year programme will enable you to qualify as a Cardiac Physiologist and register with the Cardiac Physiologist Registration Board of New Zealand. As part of your formal study you will complete the Certification of Cardiac Physiologists (CCP) practical training program, as well as completing the two year Post Grad Diploma in Medical Technology qualification. On the job training is provided by fully trained staff and incorporates competency, experience and task based components.

 

You will need to have current registration (or meet registration requirements) with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board and have the ability to gain an APC.
