Delivering Home Based Haemodialysis
The opportunity has arisen for a motivated Enrolled Nurse/s to join the staff the Dunedin Dialysis Unit. The Dialysis service is committed to, and provides for, home based dialysis therapy from Waitaki to the Bluff and Central Otago. In support of this commitment the Dialysis Unit is looking for an Enrolled Nurse/s, who will work (in a rostered and rotating capacity, inclusive of weekends) under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse, to visit dialysis patients in their homes to support them and to provide for home based haemodialysis.
To be successful you must have the ability to work in a high output area, be a team player, be flexible and adaptable, able to use your initiative and have the ability and confidence to practice both collaboratively and autonomously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are paramount for this role and as a member of a multidisciplinary team: the role also requires the ability to contribute to the ongoing teaching / education of patients and their families. You can demonstrate experience in quality processes; and will have a commitment to best practice.
While dialysis experience is highly desirable it is not essential as a comprehensive orientation and training programme is provided.
