Medical Director – Medicine, Women’s and Children’s Health, Southern District Health Board
Southern DHB is pleased to accept applications for our newly established Medical Director role.
This role will champion and support the delivery of high quality health and disability services, by providing clinical leadership and organisational support.
The successful applicant will contribute to the overall planning, coordination, and management of the Southern Health System – with a focus on safe, effective, efficient and equitable care that is a good experience for patients, families and health workers. In these senior leadership roles, you’ll participate in the management of clinical resources and develop clinical services across the health system, provide support to foster the growth and development of the medical workforce and review the professional performance of the teams.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to relate to a wide range of people and promote the philosophy of the Southern Health System Vision and Values, and you will foster an environment where the people within our health system work in partnership to promote an optimum experience for patients, families and health workers. It is important you are confident and capable in providing professional advice to team members and working with the professional leaders to ensure a skilled and credentialed workforce.
Current registration with the New Zealand Medical Council and a current practicing certificate are required. It is essential that you have at least ten years recent experience in a relevant area and be a proven leader with extensive knowledge of clinical quality and best practice and their applications within the Health Sector.
