Administrator – Building and Property Services

Dunedin Hospital


  • Permanent, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours per week)


If you are an administration super-star with excellent computer skills and the ability to undertake a multitude of administration tasks at the same time, this is a fantastic opportunity for you.


In this role you will be responsible for providing operational financial administration to the Building and Property team, to administer and coordinate invoicing for all maintenance orders with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.  You will also provide practical financial administration support to the Service Managers who are responsible for the budgets.   You will administer the key system and develop an advanced knowledge of how all of the departments and buildings of our hospitals are keyed. 


No two days will ever be the same, because you will also provide support to the rest of the administration team by undertaking a varied workload, including but not limited to: minutes, producing ID Cards, call centre helpdesk functions, asset management data entry, purchase orders, following the contracts approval process etc. 


You will gain knowledge of the plant and equipment required to run a hospital and which trade is responsible for each, how construction projects work in the hospital and how building and infrastructure assets are recorded.  This role is based in Dunedin, in a busy open plan office with up to 21 staff, therefore the ability to work in a loud environment while maintaining a sense of humour is essential.   It is vitally important that you must be a team player, who takes ownership of your role and applies initiative. 


We are looking for a self-motivated person with excellent customer service and communication skills, who thinks outside the square and asks the right questions when required.   Data entry accuracy is of utmost importance, and this will be tested as part of the interview process.
