  • Permanent, FTE 0.5, 20 hours per week

About the department

The Waitaki Community Mental Health Service is Multi-Disciplinary Team that services the North Otago District. It provides support to Child and Youth, Alcohol and Drug, Adult and Elderly services. It also provides an after-hours on call crisis service.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work within a well-established, experienced team that works collaboratively within a rural community.

You will have experience of working with patients with mental illness or with an interest in developing this in a community setting to join our team on a part-time basis.  You would also be available to cover the out of hours on call Duly Authorised Officer or the second health professional role.

About you

You will be a motivated individual, keen to make a difference and who thrives in a busy and diverse working environment. You will possess excellent communication and team working skills and will be able to work well under pressure and stressful situations.

 Preference would be given to Registered Nurses with experience in mental health though all applicants will be considered.
