Registered Nurse – Youth Forensics

Permanent, 0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week

Invercargill, based in the Child and Family Service

Do you enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team?

Are you an experienced nurse interested in youth forensic work?

We seek a nurse for our Youth Forensic team to work with youth who are engaged in offending behaviours within the juvenile justice system, who are also experiencing emotional and/or moderate to severe mental health problems.

The Southern District Health Board Youth Forensic service is a specialised service that undertakes comprehensive assessments to support youth court processes.

In this role you will be committed to delivering excellence to youth and their family in an age appropriate and culturally appropriate manner, liaise effectively in partnership with the courts and other identified agencies to support the youth’s health and wellbeing. 

As a youth forensic nurse you will hold a relevant tertiary health professional qualification and equivalent membership to the appropriate professional association. Previous experience in working with youth and families is an advantage.
