Clinical Psychologist – Gore and Balclutha
FTE 0.9, 36 hours per week
No long commute, no traffic jams, free onsite parking and a good work life balance…It all starts here.
Here in Southland, New Zealand, life is good! You’ll have heard about the mountains, epic scenery and the genuine friendliness of the people in these parts. Our region is thriving economically, with our main centre Gore a small yet cosmopolitan town, beautifully located within easy reach of Queenstown, Dunedin and Invercargill. Rich in natural beauty, we’re handy to Fiordland, and world class walks, wine and fishing of course!
We want a like-minded individual, to join our small multi-disciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. This is a unique split role (0.5 fte/ 0.4 fte) to work with children and young people as well as adults across 2 sites (Gore and Balclutha). You will provide a wide range of psychological services including risk assessment, diagnostics, formulation and treatment planning and cognitive therapy skills.
We’ll need you to be registered with the NZ Psychologists Board, with a Clinical Psychologist scope and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate. However, those who aren’t far away from obtaining their APC will still be considered, so don’t be deterred if you’re not there just yet.
The Southern region of New Zealand offers excellent amenities, schooling, housing and recreation. And if you live here you have access to the best surf, best mountains and best wines New Zealand has to offer. We’re home to the most beautiful landscapes in NZ, if it’s the great outdoors that presses your buttons; and we’re within easy reach of Queenstown if its adrenalin you seek. It’s all here waiting - the opportunity to create that fantastic work/life balance that you really want.
