Clinical Nurse Specialist, - Wakari Ward 9C Acute Psychiatry

  • Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week.

 

Join the supportive team in the Acute Inpatient Mental Health environment where each day will be different and challenging. The positon will be based in Ward 9C which is a, 16 bed inpatient facility providing mental health care for adults and youth who have been assessed as requiring a period of further assessment, investigations and/or interventions where these cannot be safely provided in the community.

 

The role will provide Nursing support and leadership primarily to ward 9C with an expectation of being available to provide input and advice to other areas from time to time as well as afterhours support. 

 

The clinical nurse specialist will role model specialist mental health nursing care based on substantial theoretical knowledge in a mental health setting and work with nursing staff to continually develop practice. You will also be involved in maintaining the ongoing development of ward treatment programmes within a SafeWards frame work.

 

The successful applicant will be Level Four (expert) (or working towards) on the Southern District Health Board Professional Development Programme. In addition to your nursing qualifications you will also have post graduate qualifications (relevant to mental health), at a minimum a diploma, but preferably a Master Degree (or working towards).

 

We are looking for a positive and confident registered nurse who has the drive and enthusiasm to motivate staff and engage them in their clinical development; you will be a respected professional in your own right, and an exceptional team member with strong communication skills.
