Southland Hospital General Medicine department offers a broad training experience. Working within one of six teams you will be involved in the care of patients covering all the subspecialist groups. Such breadth of experience means our Registrars have great success with the FRACP exam. Allied to this clinical experience we offer an extensive teaching programme, including journal club, case presentations and Consultant-led tutorials. We are accredited with the RACP for two years of basic training and one year of advanced training.
Located in the lower South Island, Southland offers a wide range of recreational opportunities. On our doorstep lies access to Fiordland National Park, the vibrant city of Dunedin and the playground that is Queenstown. The city of Invercargill and Southland Hospital itself are renowned for their friendliness and hospitality, making it a great place to live and work.
