Mental Health for Older People (Ward 6C), has several exciting opportunities for people who are looking for a rewarding career, one where you will really make a difference.

 

We are currently seeking expression of interests from Registered nurses, Enrolled nurses and Occupational therapists to come and work in our acute unit with 12 beds for people over 65 years of age. Positions range from casual to part time along with full time hours dependent on the successful candidate.

 

Within all roles, a strong knowledge base is needed to successfully take on the challenge of caring for older people in a mental health environment.  You will also need to have high standards of competence and performance, and enjoy the challenge of working with patients in this setting.  While previous mental health experience is preferred, it is not essential and new graduates are encouraged to apply!

 

To be the successful candidate for this position you’ll most definitely have a sense of humour, be energetic, with a non-judgemental attitude, have exceptional communication skills and be able to manage your time effectively. No two days will be the same meaning you’ll be continually challenged in this role. Our ward boasts a warm environment with continued support from family whanau of current patients being present in day to day care which really allows a point of difference in our service.
