Assistant Librarian – Information Services

Our Library service is looking for an Assistant Librarian to be based at Southland Hospital to assist in the provision of Library Services to the SDHB.
In this role you will be assisting in the services and operation of the District wide Library service, providing day to day services for the Southland library, co-ordinatiing the Te Puna interloan requests for the SDHB and assisting the Librarian in maintaining an up-to-date and relevant collection. You will also provide support and assistance to training staff who are on placement at the Southland hospital.
You'll bring to this role a recognised library qualification, and be eligible to attain the LIANZA Professional Registration. Your knowledge and understanding of collection development and information services principles and practices will be key to your success in this position. You'll have exceptional customer services skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all our customers, as well as assist them in the training and use of library resources and processes.
A self-motivated person, you will have the ability to complete requests in a timely manner, to think outside the square and conducting further research using your natural attention to detail. You will be supporting and working alongside an extremely wide variety of staff, so will need to quite adaptable and comfortable working in novel situations.
