Registered Nurse – North Community Mental Health Team (Crisis role)

- Monday to Friday position
The Southern DHB now has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our North Community Mental Health team. The successful candidate will be working with patients with serious mental illness in a community setting on a Monday to Friday roster.
You will have recent experience working in acute inpatient or outpatient areas. You will have a significant leadership / mentoring role within the sub-team / team as well as opportunities for wider service development.
As a key member to this experienced team you will be responsible for managing a small case load, assessing, maintaining and managing clinical risk and crisis work.
We are seeking applicants who are Duly Authorised Officer registered or have the ability to become registered to perform team crisis work, seeing you respond to mental health crises as required, during usual working hours.
You will have previously demonstrated a commitment to best practice and your model of practice will be inclusive of the seven Real Skills of Let’s get real (www.tepou.co.nz). You will also hold a strong sense of ‘self’, a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a commitment to working cohesively in a large and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
Further you will have the support and access to ongoing education to grow within this role.
To be eligible to apply you must be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and have a current and valid APC and clean full driver’s license.
