We are currently looking for a dynamic registered nurse to join our team within the Mental Health for Older People Ward-6C, on a permanent Full time basis (40 hours per week). Ward 6C is a 12-bed acute assessment and treatment unit for people aged over 65 years with an array of mental health ( along with some physical health) needs, located in Dunedin Hospital.
A strong knowledge base is essential to meeting the challenge of caring for older people in a mental health environment. Previous mental health experience is highly regarded. You will need to have high standards of competence and performance while enjoy the challenge of working with patients in this unique and varied setting. Overall you will aim to offer a safe and supervised environment to assess patients’ needs while providing treatment during their admission.
We are seeking someone who is warm, empathetic, responsive and highly attuned to the emotions, needs and motivations of older people. New graduates are welcomed to apply with the assurance of ongoing training and support throughout your career.
It goes without saying you will be a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate.
