Enrolled Nurse / Clinical Physiologist Renal - Renal Unit  

 

  • Part-time position – 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE)
  • Fixed Term Parental Leave Cover Position until May 2019

 

Delivering Home Based Haemodialysis – Invercargill Based

 

The opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Enrolled Nurses or Clinical Physiologist (Endorsed in Renal) to join the staff the Southern DHB Dialysis Team.

 

The Dialysis service is committed to, and provides for, home based dialysis therapy from Waitaki to the Bluff and Central Otago.  In support of this commitment the Dialysis Unit is looking for an Enrolled Nurse, or Clinical Physiologist, who will work (in a rostered and rotating capacity, inclusive of weekends as required) under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse, to visit dialysis patients in their homes to support them in managing their dialysis and where required to provide the for full home based haemodialysis. This is a fixed term parental leave cover position (based in Invercargill) and may well suit you if you are looking for a change or a secondment.

To be successful you must have the ability to work in a high output area, be a team player, be flexible and adaptable, able to use your initiative and have the ability and confidence to practice both collaboratively and autonomously.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are paramount for this role and as a member of a multidisciplinary team: the role also requires the ability to contribute to the ongoing teaching / education of patients and their families.  You can demonstrate experience in quality processes; and will have a commitment to best practice. This position requires that you have your full drivers licence and a reliable car.

Dialysis experience is highly desirable. However a comprehensive orientation and training programme (in Dunedin) will be provided. The successful applicant will be required to be in Dunedin and to work full time for the duration of the training.
