Registered Nurses – Emergency Department
- 5 part time vacancies available - 0.7 FTE/0.8 FTE (28/32 hours per week)
- Permanent opportunities - Safer Staffing appointments
Here at Southern DHB, we are firmly committed to providing our patients with the highest level of care. We believe that our dedicated and passionate staff are a significant driving force behind the achievement of these standards, and we need more like minded people to help us continue providing for our community.
Due to the signing of the national safe staffing accord, the Emergency Department (ED) situated at Dunedin Hospital has five exciting opportunities for passionate and experienced nurses to join the team on a permanent, part time basis. With an overarching vision to be a centre of clinical care and customer service excellence, your skills and experience can positively contribute to the fulfilment of this vision, resulting in quality patient centred care for our community.
The ED includes a triage area, a rapid assessment area, dedicated resuscitation areas, acute, sub-acute and paediatric cubicles. It carries out all acute cares, including full patient resuscitation facilities, management of trauma, fractures, injuries and so much more. This is certainly a dynamic and interesting area to work. It goes without saying that an opportunity such as this lends itself to enhancing professional development and a well-rounded skill set.
Opportunities exist for nurses wanting to develop their skills in this area of nursing including: a comprehensive orientation programme; on-going development in emergency nursing skills e.g. Trauma Nursing Core Course, Triage Course, and Advanced Life Support.
We’re looking for nurses who are experienced and organised, friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team.
Must have current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals.
- Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused.
- Previous ED experience is essential, and you must have at least 1 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
Closing Date: Sunday 9 December 2018
