Registered Nurse – Crisis / Case Management / Outreach

South Community Mental Health Team

Permanent, up to full-time (up to 40 hours a week)

 

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our great team in the role of Crisis Nurse/Registered Nurse. This position has recently become available and is pivotal to the effective functioning of the South Community Mental Health Team. 

 

The Crisis Nurse/Registered Nurse is responsible for assessment of consumer’s mental health, the planning and delivery of consumer focused nursing care/treatment and provision of effective case management to a specific consumer caseload.  As a Crisis Nurse you will provide crisis assessment and intervention and have the ability to connect and liaise with wider mental health and addiction networks. 

 

You will be an experienced clinician who has superior organisational and communication skills, it is also important you are a team player who is committed to quality service delivery.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a community setting.  You should have existing community experience and ideally recent crisis experience. You must also have the ability to prioritise and meet the demands of a busy workload.

 

We will support you by providing an orientation to the role and continuing education and training opportunities.  The successful applicant will be provided with support and training to achieve Duly Authorised Officer status within 6 months of commencing in this role.  Participating in regular clinical supervision is also an expectation of this position.    

 

You will have previously demonstrated a commitment to best practice standards and your model of practice will be inclusive of the seven Real Skills of Let’s get real (www.tepou.co.nz).  You will also hold a strong sense of ‘self’ and a demonstrated commitment to working cohesively in a large and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
