The Waitaki Community Mental Health Service is Multi-Disciplinary Team that services the North Otago District, providing support to Child and Youth, Alcohol and Drug, Adult and Elderly services. It also provides an after-hours on call crisis service.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to work within a well-established, experienced team that works collaboratively within a rural community.
You will have experience of working with patients with mental illness in a community setting.
Clinicians are motivated to provide optimal treatment through thorough assessment and continued multi-disciplinary team co-ordination of treatment. This is a mental health role which combines assessment, treatment and psychotherapy for people experiencing both acute and longstanding psychological conditions and issues.
The Clinical Psychologist is an integral and valued member of the multidisciplinary team responsible for the provision of patient-centred interventions.
The successful applicant will be required to work as a Duly Authorised Officer under the Mental Health Act (training provided if necessary) and participate on the after-hours on-call roster for the Waitaki Community Mental Health Team.
You will be a motivated individual, keen to make a difference and who thrives in a busy and diverse working environment. You will possess excellent communication and team working skills and will be able to work well under pressure and stressful situations.
We want a like-minded individual, to join our small multi-disciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. You will provide a wide range of psychological services including risk assessment, diagnostics, formulation and treatment planning and cognitive therapy skills.
We’ll need you to be registered with the NZ Psychologists Board, with a Clinical Psychologist scope and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate.
