We are responsible for planning, funding and providing health and disability services to a population of over 315,000 located South of the Waitaki River. Our catchment area encompasses Invercargill City, Queenstown - Lakes District, Gore, rural Southland, Clutha, Central Otago, Maniototo, Waitaki District and Dunedin City. This means Southern DHB serves the largest geographic region of all New Zealand's health boards.

 

About the Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist experienced in Mental Health to join the Gore Community Mental Health team.

 

Gore CMHT is an innovative service, looking to develop our model of delivery towards a stepped care approach.  Clinicians are motivated to provide optimal treatment through thorough assessment and continued multi-disciplinary team co-ordination of treatment. 

 

About You

You will be a motivated individual, keen to make a difference and who thrives in a busy and diverse working environment. It goes with saying you will possess excellent communication and team working skills and will be able to work well under pressure and stressful situations.  Having experience of working with adult patients with mental illness in a community setting, this role which combines assessment, treatment and psychotherapy for people experiencing both acute and longstanding psychological conditions and issues. 

 

The Clinical Psychologist is an integral and valued member of the multidisciplinary team responsible for the provision of patient-centred interventions.

 

Clinicians are motivated to provide optimal treatment through thorough assessment and continued multi-disciplinary team co-ordination of treatment. 

 

We want a like-minded individual, to join our small multi-disciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses and Social Workers. You will provide a wide range of psychological services including risk assessment, diagnostics, formulation and treatment planning and cognitive therapy skills.

To be eligible for consideration you must be a Registered Clinical Psychologist with the NZ Psychologist’s Board, hold a current practising certificate and NZ driver’s licence.
