Elective Services/ACC Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to help improve Elective Services on the Dunedin Site in the role of Elective Services/ACC Manager. Reporting to the Business Support Manager – Specialist Services, this role is at the forefront of a dedicated team all committed to improving the quality of patient care for the community. This role works closely alongside Clinical and Managerial staff to improve access to elective treatment and care within a dynamic, ever changing environment, presenting you a challenging, yet rewarding new prospect for your career.
About the Role
As Elective Services/ACC Manager, your day to day activities will be heavily integrated towards the better management of Elective Services across the district. As such, you will take responsibility and ownership of this position and run with it. This calls for someone willing to challenge the status quo and who strives to improve efficiency, so whether your involvement is self-directed or as part of the wider team, you will have ample opportunity to make a difference.
Key accountabilities of this role are varied, at times challenging, but overall rewarding, and include (but are not limited to:
- Leadership and participation with surgical teams to set elective services’ targets and to meet Ministry of Health requirements for provision of elective services to our patients.
- Monitor and analyse performance of elective services against targets
- Work with surgical teams to improve performance against elective targets
- Provide regular reports on elective performance to the services and to MOH
- Manage invoicing for ACC funded elective surgery on the Southland site

You will be a natural, confident leader who leads from the front and by example. Naturally a glass half full person, you will be an adept problem solver, with the flexibility and confidence to make sound leadership decisions on your feet. Your credibility will be complemented by your advanced communication skills; you’ll be a natural at building successful working relationships, and have proven experience in consumer focused activities. You will need to be experienced and well versed in managing and integrating different perspectives.
