Cardiorespiratory Senior Physiotherapist

Dunedin

  • Full-time, permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced cardiorespiratory physiotherapist in our inpatient Allied Health team.  We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  You will have the drive to develop quality services in collaboration with others while working alongside a committed inter-professional team of health professionals.

Dunedin Hospital is a tertiary care facility incorporating cardiothoracics, respiratory and trauma specialities.  Our newly re-developed, world-class intensive care unit (Te puna wai ora - Southern Critical Care) is preparing to open its doors enabling new opportunities for evidence-informed physiotherapy care.  We take pride in supporting our staff to grow as clinicians so we run an ongoing support and professional development programme including regular team in-services, senior staff mentoring and peer review, a comprehensive on-call competency training framework, and access to course and conference funding.  Our staff are also working towards implementation of simulation training resources and programmes to enhance education opportunities.

We seek a clinician with a minimum of five years’ experience.  You will be able to work autonomously in a variety of inpatient settings including surgical and respiratory wards, and intensive/critical/high-dependency care.   You will be proficient at managing and prioritising a caseload within the inpatient setting, and show dedication to developing your own skills while supporting the growth of students, junior staff and the Allied Health Assistant workforce.
