Ward 9C is a busy open 16 bed inpatient facility comprising of 2 funded youth beds, with a dedicated staff. The service caters to clients that have been assessed as requiring a period of increased assessment, investigations and/or interventions and have been admitted via community teams or the Emergency Psychiatric Service, and cover of all the major psychiatric diagnoses.
This 20 hour a week role that will require good time management skills to enable your assessment, planning, and delivery of effective clinical psychology interventions for patients, you’ll actively participate in individual and group therapy’s. Ensuring the continued wellbeing of your clients will see you liaising extensively with other clinical psychologists within the organisation both on Ward and in the Community seeking to maintain consistent links and treatments for clients.
The team at Ward 9C have been working hard to develop systems and procedures that support the wellbeing of clients even whilst they are not within the ward. These projects are ongoing and require a dedicated and enthusiastic person to continue forging ahead with continuing initiatives and areas of improvement for the delivery of service. You’ll be open to different ways of working to get positive outcomes.
This position requires a strong communicator, who is flexible with excellent organisational and time management skills. You’ll be adept at working autonomously however you’ll be able to seamlessly contribute as a member of a wider multidisciplinary team and when appropriate, provide consultation to other health professionals within the organisation always striving to provide high quality care.
You’ll need to demonstrate effective clinical psychological assessment and intervention skills, and an interest in Acute Metal Health.
To be considered for this role you must be a Registered Clinical Psychologist with The NZ Psychologist’s Board, hold a current practising certificate and NZ drivers licence to apply for these roles.
