Registered Nurse – Ward 8c Oncology/Haematology

- Part-time 0.5 or 0.6 FTE (20 or 24 hours per week)
Ward 8c Oncology & Haematology is looking for two experienced Registered Nurses to join their team on a fixed term part-time basis.
The Oncology and Haematology Service is a busy, challenging but rewarding place to work and comprises of the acute Oncology & Haematology in-patient ward, Oncology Day Unit, Outpatient Clinics and Radiation Therapy treatment areas.
This ward-based position involves the care of medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology patients receiving chemotherapy, supportive or radiation therapy. Some of the key nursing tasks are: comprehensive patient assessment; administration of chemotherapy and associated supportive therapies or procedures; symptom control and management; patient education; and psychosocial assessment and support.
The applicants must have:
- Excellent communication skills
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Recent New Zealand based acute medical nursing or oncology/haematology experience
