Forensic Mental Health Team

The Social Worker role with the Invercargill Forensic Mental Health Team provides comprehensive assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and monitoring of people identified as having moderate to severe mental illness and associated psychosocial issues.

This role is an essential part of our multi-disciplinary team and provides expert knowledge, skills and input to the care team. In this role you will work with and have the support of our multidisciplinary teams and will also work collaboratively with our partners in the health, NGO, criminal justice and corrections services etc.

You’ll bring to this role previous experience in a Mental Health Social Work position, ideally in a forensic community setting, and have excellent communication and time management skills. You will be a team player and will demonstrate commitment and innovation in your work.

There could also be an opportunity for this role to be combined with other Social Work vacancy to work up to 1.0 FTE. If this would be of interest please indicate in your covering letter.

To be considered for the role you should have Social Work registration with the New Zealand Social Work Registration Board (SWRB), or be eligible for registration and undertake to complete this within 3 months of appointment. You should also have a current, clean driver licence.
