Registered Nurse - Gastroenterology

Dunedin Hospital

  • Permanent – 1.0 FTE
  • 40 Hours per week

Our Gastroenterology Department has an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to apply for a permanent full time role.

We have a close knit department with 25 staff and are looking for a team player with an interest in the gastroenterology field and learning technical skills for assisting the flexible endoscopic procedures.  Current experience in an endoscopy unit would be preferred.    We would anticipate after a certain training period and competence assessment the successful candidate would be able to participate in our after-hours acute service roster.  There is also the opportunity to expand knowledge into areas like research, inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease.   The department offers you the opportunity to work in a diagnostic outpatient service and be exposed to a different type of nursing practice.

The role is 40 hours per week within the Monday to Friday from 0730 until 1700.  Your 8 hour shift will fit into this time frame.  The on call service runs from 4.30pm until 8.00 am weekdays and 24 hours on the weekend

Closing Date: Wednesday, 21st March 2018.
