Expressions of interest sought from experienced Mental Health Nurses.
Opportunities now and in the future…
Here at Southern DHB, we’re up to the challenge of realising our vision of Better Health, Better Lives, Whanau Ora; and to help us achieve this we’re very focused on bringing into our organisation people who display our values of being Kind, Open and Positive, with a sense of Community.
We’re currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Mental Health Nurses for opportunities (current and upcoming vacancies) across our Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service. These include Emergency Psychiatric Care, Forensic, Inpatient, Acute, rehabilitation, Intellectual Disability and Community; and cover the whole life spectrum of Child, Youth, Family, Adult and Older People.
Uniquely situated, we cover all mental health specialities, and cover a vast geographical area. At the very top of our list of reasons to join us at Southern DHB is the lifestyle that the Southern region offers. We’re home to the most beautiful landscapes in NZ, if it’s the great outdoors that presses your buttons; and we’re within easy reach of the likes of Queenstown if its adrenalin you seek. It’s all here - the opportunity to create a fantastic work/life balance is waiting for you. Within the Southern DHB region, Dunedin, Central Otago, Waitaki and Southland all offer the benefits of excellent amenities, schooling, housing, great food and wine, and a variety of climates and locations, from coastal to mountains.
You may be a NZ Registered Nurse with Mental Health experience looking for that better lifestyle for you and your family that the southern region can offer; or you may be an overseas trained Mental Health Nurse – yet to take that first step on your journey to New Zealand. Don’t be deterred if you have yet to Register with the New Zealand Nursing Council or work through Visa processes with Immigration New Zealand, some of our opportunities are planned for the not too distant future, but we’re interested in starting the conversation with you now.
Don’t miss out. If you’re thinking about or have ever thought about making the move, then now’s the perfect time! If you have the experience and skillset that we’re looking for, we’ll put you in touch with the right Mental Health service so you can find out more, and we can explore employment options with you. I look forward to talking with you soon.
