Introduction |
The District Nursing Service is a community based service providing a wide range of care to patients in their own homes. District Nurses are qualified nurses who meet specific health needs in communities, utilising specialised nursing knowledge and assessment skills. The services include wound care, palliative care, continence, costomy specialist care, Oncology and hospital post discharge care. The service operates seven days a week and on a needs basis in the rural areas. Admission to the service is via referral from hospital or a General Practitioner. |
