The Southern Partnership Group has toured the Dunedin and Wakari hospital sites to help inform the redevelopment process.

The Southern Partnership Group (SPG) was set up in September 2015 to provide governance oversight of the redevelopment of hospital services in Dunedin, working closely with the Southern DHB and Commissioner Kathy Grant.

SPG Chair Andrew Blair says the tour has helped inform their review of current services and prepare the service planning component of the redevelopment business case.

“The first meeting was important to help us see exactly what we’re dealing with and ensure urgent interim works align with the overall redevelopment,” Mr Blair says.

“Hospital redevelopments take time and we’re committed to ensuring we achieve the best outcomes for Southern DHB staff and patients throughout the redevelopment process.”

A RFP to secure additional expert resource to support the strategic phase of the redevelopment is expected to be posted today.
