Intro for Maternity Services here

You can choose a Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) midwife as soon as you know you are pregnant to receive full maternity care throughout pregnancy, birth, and for up to six weeks after your baby is born.  Book with your LMC within the first twelve weeks of pregnancy to receive the full range of maternity care -
Register yourself and your baby with a GP practice.  Your GP can provide you with pre-conception advice, early pregnancy care, advice about medications and medical conditions, immunisations in pregnancy, and well-woman after care including contraception and smears.  Register your baby in the first weeks of life to receive on-time immunisations and care for when your baby is unwell -

Register your baby with a Well Child Tamariki Ora provider before your baby reaches 2 weeks old to receive on-time well child checks.

Every child is entitled to well child checks from before six weeks through to the child’s before school check (age 4).  Talk to your midwife or doctor about referring you to one of the Well Child Tamariki Ora providers in your area.
