The Central Lakes Community Mental Health team based in Queenstown is made up of twelve clinicians including psychologists, social workers, nurses and a mental health needs assessor. This team provides mental health and addiction specialist services which includes assessment, follow up and treatment for people experiencing a moderate to severe mental illness. This is provided across the age range to the people of the Queenstown area.

Mental Health Emergency
A mental health crisis service is available 24 hours a day by calling 0800 467 846. This number is answered by a mental health professional in the Southland Mental Health Emergency team based in Invercargill. Queenstown-based staff provide a limited crisis response service out of hours and the Southland Mental Health Emergency Team respond between midnight and 8:30am.
